About Us

Who We Are

The Box Consultancy are a team of proposal writing and bid management specialists. We work with many businesses, from SME to multinational, helping them find tender opportunities, boost the quality of their proposals and improve their approach to bidding. We formed in 2016, although we’ve been fine-tuning our craft for a lot longer than that, as you’ll see from our profiles below.

Managing Director

Our founder, Donna, started her career at BT, which provided the perfect environment to learn about all aspects of sales and marketing, including the sales cycle, bid management, campaign marketing, propositions development, project management, and copywriting.

After 10 years she decided it was time to go it alone and started offering campaign management and copywriting services on a freelance basis. Since then, the company has evolved to offer proposal writing and bid management, for a variety of clients in industries such as IT, telecommunications, professional services, and infrastructure.

Donna’s aim is to raise the quality bar on every bid and proposal written for our clients.
Derek Bain

Derek Bain

Business Development Director

Derek is our Business Development Director, responsible for driving new business and managing our tender search services. He has many years working in sales and business turnaround consultancy.

Derek is great with people and has a skill for connecting trusted business contacts with each other and helping them identify new business opportunities and revenue streams. To facilitate this during the COVID-19 pandemic, he recently launched ‘The Box Network’ which is a regular Thursday afternoon forum of light-hearted business chat and business introductions.
